Super Mario Galaxy 2 é uma plataforma de acção para a Wii, que continua a diversão espacial iniciada pela fuga 2007 hit Super Mario Galaxy. Apresentando out-of-este-mundo de plataformas através de uma ampla gama de ambientes únicos e planetas do espaço, os jogadores podem ir sozinho como Mario ou equipe com seu velho amigo Yoshi como plataforma eles e resolver quebra-cabeças para seus corações conteúdo. As características adicionais incluem a nova chave e voltar power-ups, habilidades especiais power-up quando teamed com Yoshi e do mecânico que permite perfurar novos Mario toca para dentro e através de planetas.

Principais Características do jogo:
- Mario reúne estrelas como ele viaja de galáxia para galáxia. Cada nível é nova, mas o jogo mantém o encanto, o sentimento de maravilha e beleza em sintonia com a história de Mario. Mario trabalha o seu caminho através dos vários níveis, às vezes de cabeça para baixo, às vezes flutuante de lugar para lugar.
- Em algumas etapas, Mario pode encontrar um ovo, esmagá-la aberta e salto sobre as costas de Yoshi. Yoshi pode usar sua língua para agarrar objectos e atirar-los de volta aos inimigos, ou senão juntar pontos e swing em abismos.
- Yoshi tem uma dieta interessante. Quando ele come uma pimenta Dash, ele fica muito quente e frenética que ele pode correr até declives íngremes e paredes verticais. Quando ele come uma fruta Blimp, ele infla como um balão e flutua a novas alturas.
- Powerups novas incluem uma broca que Mario usa para túnel através da superfície do planeta, todo o caminho até o outro lado do planeta.
- Os jogadores qualificados vai querer recolher novas Cometa Metais, que vai desbloquear níveis mais difíceis com desafios ainda mais.
